Shropshire Constabulary came into existence in March 1840 and took in the following local district forces as follows: Wenlock Borough 1841, Oswestry Borough 1877, Bridgenorth Borough and Ludlow Borough in 1889 and Shrewsbury Police in 1947, before becoming part of the West Mercia Constabulary upon amalgamation with the Hertfordshire and Worcestershire Constabularies on the 1st October 1967.
The registration used on the model is believed to have been on the first traffic patrol car an Austin 16 D N T 216. The Chief Constable of the Shropshire Constabulary at the time of the models actual existence is believed to be Major Jack Beck who was Chief Officer from 1918 until 30 September 1935. On amalgamation the force had 555 officers.

Description: Cream body and cab roof, glossy black chassis; matt black van roof; brown seats; black 24 spoke wheels; plain black tyres; chrome plated parts; Shropshire Constabulary emblem and The Chief Constable address on van sides with 'POLICE' in black lettering on rear door and in white lettering on radiator grille; 'DNT216' on rear number plate and on front right fender.

Variations: Black chassis with black 24 spoke wheels or dark blue chassis with gold 24 spoke wheels.
